CARAVAN TRIO consists of DEVI MAMAK, COLIN BERRYMAN & CHRIS FIELD on piano, Sitar & Indian Tabla interpreting traditional melodies & rhythms from India, Japan, Kurdistan, Mali, Egypt & Spain, as well as original compositions indebted to Erik Satie, Ali Akbar Khan, Beethoven, Tigran Hamasayan & others too numerous to mention.

Devi Mamak's mesmerizing compositions enfold Colin’s classical Indian raga vibrations & Chris’s Indian rhythms to offer audiences a kaleidoscopic & immersive experience. Devi has combined her knowledge of classical music, her fascination with jazz & her love of world music to compose & arrange original new music that is mysterious, eclectic, passionate & multilayered. Sometimes soothing to the soul & sometimes eminently danceable.

Caravan invite you to an intimate show, evolved from the larger Caravan Band that have been playing together since 2020 & have performed sell out shows across Sydney, as well as live at the village jazz festival.

Devi, Colin & Chris have deep roots in the music & dance scenes in Australia & overseas. Their convergence is unique, dynamic & unmissable!
