Anyone can improvise! This free 90-minute course is designed for students to see if improv brings them joy and entertainment.
Improv helps students be better listeners, improves their confidence, gives them a creative outlet, supports social skills and teaches them how to work as part of a group in a non-competitive environment. Most of all improv is a fun and exciting activity to do during the school holidays.
In this class students will be lead in a number of fun and creative improv games by an experienced Big Fork Improviser who is a qualified early childhood educator.
This taste tester class is for students who are currently in grades 1 through 12. COVID Safe instructions will be emailed out prior to the class depending on current restrictions at the time.
Parents and guardians are welcome to remain on-site during the class, if not staying we ask that students be collected promptly at the end of the class.

Meet your teacher Ben Snaith!
Ben Snaith is a performer with a wide range of experience. He has worked as a touring independent musician, theatre maker, short film maker, performance artist and improviser, getting up in front of audiences for over a decade.
Ben is also an enthusiastic educator, completing a Bachelor of Education (Prep-Yr 12) with an Upper Years major in Performing Arts. He has also spent the last 4 years as a kindergarten teacher.
Taking a break from full time teaching, Ben is excited to facilitate Primary and Secondary-aged classes in Improv and Performance for Big Fork Theatre. He started to develop ideas for these programs when his production company “Alt City” developed an inter-generational musical improv show called “The Secret Superhero Galaxy-Travelling Family Band Show,” for the Brisbane Improv Festival.
The show focussed on encouraging play, listening skills and for the children in the cast to feel their ideas were as valid as the rest of their cast members and these are some of the guiding ideas Ben will be bringing into these Little Forks classes.
Ben holds a current Blue Card.
