That's right, folks, The Idea of North don't live in Melbourne, but they are once again braving Melbourne winter to appear live at Collins Street Baptist this July.

Actually, the group's amazing new(ish) soprano, Emma Rule does live in Melbourne, but that would have made the title of the show too long. In fact, it's already too long, as is this explanation of an homonym whose meaning should be self-evident in this context.

Come and join The Idea of North as they fire on all five cylinders with a whole bunch of new repertoire, new energy and new (but even more awesome) sound in this celebration of singing - live singing. As opposed to recorded singing. Enough. You get it.

As great as their recordings are, all the best bits happen in the flesh, where spontaneity and extemporaneousness reign (and redundant tautologies as well, apparently), interaction can happen, and where you employ more than just one of your multiple, highly-tuned senses. Engage your ears, your eyes AND your heart with the soulful tunes that will emanate from the stage on July 28th. If there were a word to describe the emotive sense, then that's the one you use in spades at any concert by The Idea of North - come and be moved to laughter and tears and most of what falls in between.

The Idea of North. They live. And they're live, in Melbourne, this winter. See you there!
