Parenting doesn't come with a manual, but you don't have to figure it out alone. Support & Thrive is a series of upcoming government-funded parenting programs designed to help local parents and carers build confidence, strengthen family relationships and connect with other families navigating similar experiences.

We're currently seeking expressions of interest from families across Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Singleton and Muswellbrook to help shape programs that meet the needs of our local communities. Families may have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in evidence-informed parenting programs such as Circle of Security
  • Gain practical strategies to support your child's development, emotions and everyday routines
  • Build confidence and feel more supported in your parenting journey
  • Learn alongside other parents and carers in a welcoming, non-judgemental environment
  • Connect with local families and reduce feelings of isolation
  • Ask questions, share experiences and explore common parenting challenges
  • Access support from our experienced education and allied health team
  • Choose from daytime, evening, face-to-face, online or hybrid program options
Whether you're navigating toddler tantrums, big emotions, sleep routines, school readiness, family transitions or simply looking to strengthen your connection with your child, these programs are designed to provide practical support and reassurance every step of the way. There is no commitment at this stage. By registering your interest, you'll help us understand what local families are looking for so we can tailor programs, locations and session times to best meet community needs. Programs are being planned across:

• Kurri Kurri
• Singleton
• Muswellbrook
• Cessnock

Register your interest by selecting a free ticket and telling us what types of parenting programs, locations and session times would work best for your family. We're particularly interested in hearing whether you would prefer daytime or evening sessions and whether face-to-face, online or hybrid options would make it easier for you to attend.

Are you a professional or community service working with local families?

You're also welcome to share this opportunity with families who may benefit from additional support, practical parenting strategies and meaningful connections within their community.
