Welcome to something new in the Common Cause learning space: Community of Practice gatherings.

These gatherings are for values practitioners eager to hear from others about what happens when you consciously apply values to campaigns, movement building, communications and other social change efforts. If you have attended an introduction to values workshop, you are welcome to sign up for a Common Cause Community of Practice event.

The Common Cause team has been reflecting on how to support practitioners who have been working with values for a number of years. We decided to trial face to face community of practice sessions, where members of our values community share their work and insights. Together we can collectively analyse the challenges and push backs practitioners are experiencing.

Each gathering will open with a case study presented by a practitioner, then Q & A about their work. We are very pleased that Siobhán Costigan, People Like Us co-founder and documentary film maker will take us behind the scenes in the making of This Mother's Day a joint project with Mums 4 Refugees.

After the case study discussion, the floor is open for general questions so practitioners can share the values questions that 'keep them awake at night' and others can respond. Each gathering will be facilitated by a Common Cause team member - Angela Rutter, Eleanor Glenn, Mark Chenery or Sandy Killick.

A big thanks to Phil Freeman, WWF National Communications Manager for hosting our first ever Community of Practice breakfast. Please join us to dive below the tip of the 'values iceberg' and help us trial this new way of deepening our application of values.

By making a donation of $20, you will help us cover event costs including light refreshments. Donations of any amount, however, are welcome. NB on Sticky Tickets registering is one action and donating is a second action :)

If you would like to host a Community of Practice gathering in your part of Australia, or present a project where you consciously applied values to motivate behaviour change, please email sandy@commoncause.org.au to get the ball rolling.
