“Ellas #3 is the third concert of a series of Latin American female singer’s encounters. After two sold out concert, “Ellas” returns with an exquisite repertoire to open your senses to a night filled up of romance, passion and flavour.
The night it’s a tribute to Latin American music, showing its soul and roots delivering compositions from authors, some known, and some deliciously discovered. Rachelle, Carmen and Angela will bring a mixture of andinean, trova, bolero and contemporary tunes.
RACHEL (Rachelle)
Rachel , a Latin / Soul Singer commenced her singing Career in Australia’s Latin Community in the 1990s at a very young age and performed in The Schools Spectacular where she met John Foreman with whom she performed on many occasions in Sydney. She then moved to Chile where she was a Recording Artist for EMI Records (Chile). EMI Chile released two of her Albums, one of which was released in Spain. Rachel’s song"Quiero" went to the top of the Charts in both Chile and Spain.
Rachel has been praised as "Best Female Singer" by the Chilean Associated Press, and declared "Best New Artist" by the Chilean Chamber of Commerce in Miami.
Rachel has shared the stage with prestigious Spanish artists such as Shakira, and Los del Rio.
She has also performed at South America’s most Prestigious Music Festival – Vina del Mar with American Singer Peabo Bryson. She was also honoured to be invited to Miami to give Homage to Latin America’s best known composer and lyricist Armando Manzanero on the most popular Latin American Show “Sabado Gigante".
In Recent years , she has been collaborating with Australian ORIGINAL Music Band “Nothin but Jam“, where they have performed at Sydney venues such as The Lyric Theatre, The Metro and TheEnmore Theatre.
CARMEN ALICIA
Carmen grew up singing traditional music from her homeland, as well as an immense range of styles from Latin-American repertoire. Her musical experience intensified through her academic studies and closeness to the people, which finally paid off receiving numerous awards in musical festivals with her dearest duet Carmen & Milva.
Carmen is Bachelor in Music and migrated to Australia in 2009 and immediately started performing for audiences of different backgrounds but constantly aiming at keeping her roots alive. In 2010 she recorded her first soloist cd “Music with Latin taste” performing covers of the most classic songs from the Latin-American repertoire.
She is currently the director and conductor of the Spanish Speaking Choir based in Fairfield NSW and lead vocalist of the Sydney band Sensacion Latina.
ANGELA
Angela is a Colombian artist known by her talents of acting and singing.
Lead singer of the well loved Sydney dance band CUMBIAMUFFIN, along with collaborations with PENA FLAMENCA, ARREBATO ENSAMBLE and ART OF CADENCIA latest group project evolved for sacred music festival.
Known by her theatre and music event productions, she now is committed to empower artistic collectives wishing to share a deeper musical showcase of Latin America.
With a mix between jazz, bolero, flamenco and trova son, Angela takes audiences to a magical journey, engaging her followers with her romanticism, sensuality and talent.
MUSOS
Ellas will be accompanied by besties brothers Carlos Arango on guitar, Feña Coloma on percussion, Tina Harris on base and Camilo Parra on clarinete and flute.
