The contribution of mining to the Hunter remains vital to the economic strength of the region.

With around $11 billion in new mines and proposals to extend existing mining operations across the State in the project pipeline, it is timely to consider the policy settings that will help ensure strong mining communities in the Hunter into the future.

NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galillee will brief Hunter region business chambers ahead of the upcoming State election on a new report into the economic contribution of mining and key issues for voters in mining electorates at this election.
