It is with tremendous disappointment to advise that Sarah McLeod has been forced to cancel her show at Pigeon Lane this Thursday the 12th of November, due to COVID quarantine and travel restrictions.

Although we are very pleased to announce that Frank Sultana will appear at Songs & Stories in Sarah's place, this tomorrow night, with very special guest Max Steel.

Doors 6pm // Max Steel 7:00pm // Frank Sultana 8:00pm

You may have been contacted by Jeremy to discuss your options. Fortunately, it would appear that many of you are sufficiently enthused by the prospect of indulging a wonderfully intimate night out, in our delightful new room @ Gallery One88, featuring the remarkable Frank Sultana and Max Steel.

The ticket price includes a 3-course meal // Non-alcoholic refreshments available // BYO alcohol. We recommend that you visit our good friends at Leura Cellars en route to Pigeon Lane @ Gallery One88, who provide an exquisite selection of wines, beer and spirits, including our locally brewed Mountain Culture.

Please read the event information at the bottom of this page very carefully, as you are required to select a vegetarian or non-vegetarian meal option when purchasing your tickets.

Awash with vintage guitar tones and primitive rhythms, Frank Sultana’s raw soulful voice bleeds with the experience of the characters he writes and sings about - In one breath, his songs are dark and dirty, joyous and hopeful.

Frank is a storyteller in the traditional sense, inspired by greats like Ray Charles and Bob Dylan, as well as Mississippi blues pioneers like Skip James and Son House. He’s released 5 albums and 3 Eps and has become a permanent fixture on Australia’s live scene, earning a big reputation as a powerhouse singer and gifted songwriter.

He has shared the bill with many great artists, including Gary Clarke Jnr, Tony Joe White, Canned Heat, the New Power Generation, Ian Moss, The Whitlams, The Backsliders, Russel Morris, Diesel, James Reyne, The Fumes, Kingswood, Dallas Frasca, Mojo Juju, Busby Marou, Kira Puru and many many others.

Having stomped a well-worn path between Melbourne and Brisbane, touring both as a solo artist (often incorporating stomp box and looper) or with a band, Frank Sultana has racked up over 100 shows in 2019 in NSW, VIC, QLD and NZ.

His latest album ‘The Blues Diaries Volume 1 Moama to Macleay’ was released in May, and his new single ‘Don’t Sugarcoat It' will be released in March 2020.

Optimistic is how some would refer to Max Steel's music. Full of melancholic moments and heart strung tugging-turns, a calm sense of "it's gonna be ok" can be felt deep at the core of Max's song writing. Based in the Blue Mountains, Max was more familiar with the punk and metal underbelly of Sydney before branching out into the realms of folk, pop and Alt Country. Whilst it isn't as loud as before, the passion is still made plain, drawing influence from each and every experience and genre of his past, he strings it all together with a tidy but tattered black bow.
