Supervising students: Exploring social work practices in health settings
This presentation engages health social workers in reflection about identifying practices of social work as a way to support student learning and reflexive practice.
Practice theory in field education focusses on what students doing, saying and how they are relating to the people and context around them. We will explore how practice theory challenges the dichotomy of theory and practice in social work field education and offers an alternative perspective of social work knowledge as relational, embodied, emergent and always contextual.
