Block Print Workshop

Join Ellen and Jess, mother and daughter creatives, for a fun and exhilarating day exploring the versatility, spontaneity and joy of block printing - www.bandicute.com.au

Block printing specialists, Ellen and Jess, will show you everything you need to start your fabric printing journey - from explaining design options, demonstrating how to carve your image into your block and giving insight into their favourite materials and tools to use. Jess and Ellen will help you transform your drawings/designs into hand carved stamps to use on your projects. All materials will be provided including a tea towel which by the end of the workshop you can proudly display in your kitchen or gift to a friend. This workshop will give you the skills to continue using your stamp on any other projects such as cushion covers, table runners, cards, tea towels and gift bags. No prior knowledge is needed!

Materials provided: Cutting tools, foam rollers, fabric inks, rubber blocks, cutting mats, heat press, paper, pencils, 1 tea towel per participant, scrap fabric, books for inspiration, instruction hand out.

Block printing kits will also be available for purchase on the day so you can continue to create your own rubber stamps and print fabric at home.

What to bring: Apron and sketchbook or design you would like to carve.

The workshop will be held in the studio at Honeysuckle cottage www.honeysucklecottage.com.au - the cottage is used for short stay accommodation and workshops. Tour the cottage and garden before commencing the workshop.

Join us for coffee before the workshop from 9:30am. Lunch will be served during a break.
