Ever wondered why some honey is labelled as “blue gum honey” and others don’t specify what type it is? Or why some of your honey has crystallised in the jar? And how on earth do they cream honey?

During this workshop you will learn about how honey is made and extracted from a hive, the composition of honey, how best to handle and store it, why some honey is sold as honeycomb or creamed or labelled as a specific flavour. You will have an opportunity to try several varieties of honey and see the type of plant they were produced from.

Age range 12 plus, please meet in the Terrace Room.

All teaching materials and a take home information book will be included.
