BOLD returns to Canberra! After a spectacular five day in event in 2017 BOLD returns in 2019 celebrating the legacy of dance of all cultures in professional and community practice.


5 days of workshops, performances, talks, forums and film showings will bring a range of professional and community dance artists to Canberra.


BOLD runs across a range of Australia’s foremost cultural institutions; The National Library of Australia, National Film and Sound Archive, National Gallery of Australia, National Portrait Gallery, Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centre, QL2 Dance and Ausdance ACT. We will also have performances at Parliament House and the Balloon Spectacular with a closing event at MacKellar Ridge Winery.


Our Patron is Elizabeth Cameron Dalman, OAM and featured speakers include Sue Healey, Marilyn Miller, Karen Gallagher, Padma Menon, Dr Garry Lester, Dr Laura Osweiler and Claire Hicks


Performers include international artists Didik Hadiprayitno, Eileen Standley and Mary Fitzegerald, Vicki van Hout, Eric Avery, Tammi Gissell, Graham Davis King, Rakini Devi, Tasmania’s MADE dance elders, Canberra's GOLD Company and Agile not Fragile from NSW.
