Darryl Browne, Solicitor
Topic: Developments with Enduring Powers of Attorney
Darryl Browne is the principal of Browne.Linkenbagh Legal Services in Leura. He is an Accredited Specialist in Wills and Estates, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a member of STEP, and a Notary Public. Darryl is a Councillor of the Law Society of NSW and chairs the Elder Law, Capacity and Succession Committee and a member of the Accredited Specialist Board. He chairs the Law Council of Australia’s Elder Law and Succession Committee and is a member of the NSW Steering Committee on preventing and responding to elder abuse. Darryl is also a director of Lawcover, a member of the Legal Aid Commission Board, and writes monthly Case Notes on wills and estates for the Law Society Journal.
Prof John Anderson
Topic: Criminal Law and Elder Abuse
John Anderson is Professor of Law at the Newcastle Law School, University of Newcastle. He practised in criminal law before becoming an academic. John has a national and international profile as a criminal law and evidence scholar with primary research interests in various aspects of the criminal justice system, sentencing and evidence law and has published widely in these areas. He is a chief investigator on assorted research projects including implementing restorative practices, taking action on elder abuse and advance personal planning for older community dwelling adults.
Adjunct Ass. Prof Sue Field
Topic: Mental Capacity
Sue Field is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Western Sydney University where she has taught elder law for fourteen years. Sue is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Charles Sturt University, a Lead Investigator with the Cognitive Decline Partnership Centre, a Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia, a Director of the Australian Centre for Elder Law Pty Ltd and a Distinguished Fellow at the Canadian Centre for Elder Law. Sue is co-editor of the Elder Law Review and has presented at many international and national events. Sue is a member of the NSW Law Society Committees on Elder Law, Capacity and Succession, and Rural Issues and was on the Advisory Committee for the Australian Law Reform Commission Inquiry into Elder Abuse. Sue also learns the cello.
