Mixed Media Workshop

Come along to this workshop and learn a variety of painting and drawing techniques which you can then apply to create your own mixed media artwork/portrait. We will play with inks, resists, fluid acrylics, stencils, paint pens and metallic leaf as a stunning finishing touch.

I will also show you how you can incorporate organic materials such as tea, coffee and alcohol into your art making process! This workshop will not only teach you many new techniques, but also encourage you to take risks and have fun with different materials to embrace your inner artist.

I am a Senior Art teacher and practising artist, so I have years of experience using and teaching these techniques.  I will be bringing some simplified images of faces which you will be welcome to use as a template for in your own original piece or bring along a reference photo/drawing of your own. (Preferably not of a person you know as this can make it more daunting to draw). Alternatively, you can create a still life image or abstract patterns - there are no rules!

Morning tea and refreshments also included in the price.

The venue Vend Market Greenhouse and Cafe is a hub of local businesses, designers & creators all under one roof, and is open 8-4pm, 7 days a week. Come along early, or stay after the workshop to enjoy a unique shopping experience and delicious food at the cafe.

Please bring your own apron or painting shirt as well as any imagery/photos you might like to refer to for your painting. If you do have art supplies you would like to bring along you are more than welcome to. Eg. pencils, watercolours, crayons, material, pens.

Children are welcome to attend but will need to be accompanied by their parent during the workshop. (Late primary school age or older recommended)

On site parking available at the venue, or alternatively you may park at the end of 'Yarraman Place' and walk through the car park directly into Vend. (there is a pathway at the end of the street)
