Allira Wilson is one of Australia's most exciting young talents. Her vocal sensibilities have been met with high acclaim and reverence; 'A flawless interpreter, she pays due respect to the tradition within her explorations’. She combines jazz harmony with a contemporary edge and a soulful dynamic. Endowed with a powerful voice, her innovative twists and youthful approach revitalize not only the music, but creates a distinctive and fresh sound.
Her debut album ‘Rise and Fall’ won the Australian Bell Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2014.
Freddie Grigson possesses the ability to push a seemingly conventional jazz standard outside the box whilst always respecting the authenticity and dignity of the original style. Flaunting a muscular tone, echoing that of the greats.
Freddie explores the ideas of playing within the boundaries of the traditional coupled with the modern harmonic approach – always showing sensitivity. His last recording entitled ‘ & ‘ featured - Allira Wilson, Vicky Newton, Libby Hammer and Elle Deslandes. The recording was a tribute and contribution to the charity Médecins Sans Frontières.
