The DEAI is proud to invite you to ''Developmental Assessments for Developmental Educators and other Allied Health Professionals".
Presenter: Melinda Cooper, Occupational Therapist, Pearson Clinical
This is an opportunity for you to refresh your skills in interpreting standardized assessments and to learn about some new assessments relevant to your practice.
This session will cover:
Statistical Survival Guide: Are you perplexed by percentiles, confounded by confidence intervals, or stumped by standards scores? Learn how to interpret standardised assessments with confidence. You will learn everything you’ll need to know about statistics and standardised testing.
Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI): (6mths-7yrs) Measures capability and performance by observing self-care, mobility and social function. Determines functional skills in which mastery and competence are demonstrated. Helps clinicians to identify treatment progress and recommends areas of new functional intervention.
Goal-Oriented Assessment of Lifeskills (GOAL): (7-17yrs). Evaluates functional motor skills in activities living.
REAL (The Roll Evaluation of Activities of Life): (2-18yrs) A screening instrument to help assess children’s self care abilities at home, school, and in the community.
Model of Sensory Processing that underpins the Sensory Profile 2
Sensory Profile 2: (0-14yrs) Assessments to help evaluate a child or young person’s sensory processing patterns in the context of everyday life.
Light refreshments will be available for morning tea.
