We have always shared our cities with nature – from magpies and remnant bushland to the fish in urban rivers. In this talk A/Prof Andrea Gaynor will illuminate the changing role of urban nature in Australian children’s experience and education from the mid-1960s to the 1990s, using oral history interviews, works and papers of environmental advocates, and evidence from children themselves.
Associate Professor Andrea Gaynor is an environmental historian at The University of Western Australia, and a 2019 National Library of Australia Fellow.
