Maintaining motivation, interest and achievement in students who are gifted.

Once a student has been identified as gifted and the needs and characteristics have been recognised by parents and teachers, the next step is to ensure that an appropriate program is implemented. Many schools are achieving this and students are keen and interested to go to school. A student’s schooling though is generally for 13 years, how then do teachers and parents keep their students who are gifted, motivated, interested and achieving at school. This presentation will discuss ideas and pathways for keeping students who are gifted engaged. Opportunity will be provided for discussion and sharing of ideas and strategies.
