Chasing the Moon celebrate Bastille Day with a feast of French Gypsy Jazz, Musette and Chanson spiced up with a soupçon of swing and Latin flavours. The exuberant and romantic sounds of European Jazz come to life with this engaging sextet.

Led by Kathy Bluff on vocals and violin and Paul Burjan on saxophone and flute, the band envelopes you in a rich sound that combines soulful vocals and swinging jazz violin with shimmering saxophone and flute, and that essential Parisian ambience that comes with the piano accordion of Clare O’Meara. Well known Sydney jazz guitarist, John Blenkhorn provides rhythmic pulse and ‘Djangoesque’ solos. Jessica Dunn (Sirens Big Band) on double bass and Mike Quigley on drums lay down the best of grooves.

The darkly chromatic gypsy jazz sound is counterpointed with the light hearted flair of American swing and the irresistible charm of the Parisian café.

Ooh là là, c’est magnifique!
