Event Details

  • The  International FASD Day Forum - Making FASD History in Newcastle will give an interesting and exciting opportunity to discover what has been developing over the past 18 months to Make FASD History in the Newcastle Community!

The forum is a partnership event between Newcastle LDAT, the Telethon Kids Institute and Mercy Services.

  • Tony Brown, chair of the Newcastle FASD Restorative Justice LDAT will be master of ceremonies.

  • The Making FASD History team will present on current locally developed research. 

  • Hear from Kath Thomas, a carer with children who have FASD, on her experiences and perspectives.

  • Dr. Murray Webber will present the FASD Health Pathway for  health professionals .

  • Melanie Kingsland from Population Health, HNELHD will discuss a practice change intervention to improve antenatal care addressing alcohol consumption by women during pregnancy. 

  • Professor Frances Kay Lambkin will be presenting on working with students from the University of Newcastle to reduce alcohol and drug use.

  • Magistrate Nell Skinner, Broadmeadow Children's Court


Date: Monday 9 September 2019

Time: A light supper will be available from 5.30pm prior to the event commencing at 6.00pm

Venue: Fort Scratchley, 1-3 Nobbys Road Newcastle East Newcastle 2300, Australia

This event is FREE for all attendees. 

Parking is available on site, a parking annex at street level as well as street parking.

Four (4) disability parking spots available on site.
