Dr FitzGerald qualified in 2000 from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and following her surgical training and Fellowship in General and Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, commenced as a consultant in 2013 in the West of Scotland. After relocating to Griffith with her family in 2018, she used her experience in breast and general surgery to help to improve rural access to a range of local general surgical procedures and operations locally.
She has shown how even rural hospitals can lead the way in introducing new technologies into NSW health with the introduction of Magseed. Now based in Wagga, she continues to visit Griffith once a month to see and operate on a range of general surgical conditions as well as perform endoscopy.

Antipasto platters and light refreshments will be available.
