Kick off Melbourne Cup Day with a bang and join us at our annual Nepean Business Network Charity Breakfast, this year in support of the Childrens Tumour Foundation.

Penrith local and staff member of local business Greencross Coreen Avenue Vet, Jenni Elliott shared with us the story of her daughter Libby and her ongoing battle with NF (neurofibromatosis). Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a group of three genetic conditions which gives rise to the potential for benign tumours to grow on nerves anywhere in the body. NF also affects the development of other systems and tissues including; the cardiovascular system, bones, skin, brain, eyes, respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract and hormonal system.

The Childrens Tumour Foundation is very important to the Elliott family as Libby has been diagnosed now for 4 years and already had a brain surgery, a spinal surgery and a sinus surgery. CTF has been there every step of the way and their aim and the family’s aim is the same - To Conquer NF.

Jenni advised that within the Penrith Local Area, there are approximately 45 families in the same situation, with a family member suffering from NF.

The CTF is a not for profit charity that receives no government funding, and it is the only charity that helps support NF sufferers and their families.

The event will be held again this year at the wonderful Café 2773, 19 Ross Street, Glenbrook.

You will be provided with: Champagne and juice on arrival, Juice and Coffee/tea served throughout.

A light breakfast, consisting of, Ham and cheese croissants, Strawberry, cherry and pineapple skewers with yoghurt dip, Mini omelettes, Mini pancake stacks with blueberries and maple syrup, French toast roll ups, Smoked salmon, Maple bacon and Chorizo skewers.

There will be live music played throughout the morning, and many raffle and auction prizes, as well as the chance to purchase your sweep entries for the Melbourne Cup.
