It was a small bus rather than a vespa, and the 40 plus degree heatwave in Europe right now didn’t make for the most comfortable travel conditions. But for the whole of July the Piave-Benvenuti clan took on some of Italy’s coastal glories as well as all the major tourist centres (in the height of Italian summer - what were we thinking!) and endured endless midday reruns of Don Matteo and Mina docos… but they lived, deliciously, to tell the tale. Now Nadia wants to sing it for you – suddenly all those songs from Italian summers of long ago make sense.
