Aire is a multicultural group guided by Francisco Castillo, a pioneers of Colombian traditional music in Australia with years of experience performing around the country.

They are influenced by the music of the Pacific region of Colombia, reviving traditional sounds that carry ancestry and roots from the African diaspora.

From the Pacific region they bring rythms like bunde, porro, currulao, and use traditional instruments: Marimba, cununo, guasa, bombo. From the Caribbean they perform cumbia, bullerengue and champeta, and for these rhythms they use tambora, maracas, llamador, alegre and gaitas.

These traditional sounds blended with guitar and drums create a modern fusion. Come and experience the sounds of Colombia!
