Description

As educators of young children one of our greatest hurdles on a daily basis can be addressing some of the challenging behaviours that can be a part of every child’s individual needs, wants and desires. We know that the foundation of working towards rewarding outcomes is founded in meaningful relationships, positive, constructive environments, and an overall sense of security for the child.

However, in many educational programs managing behaviour seems to take centre stage with very little opportunity to dedicate time to working productively with behaviours, or in fact, teaching children pro-social behaviour. Maybe it’s time to rethink behaviour and ask ‘whose problem is it really’?

This full day workshop will build educators’ capacity to work with some of the more challenging behaviours, with a greater sense of understanding and clear direction, moving towards positive outcomes.

Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Identify ongoing behaviours that can be challenging for both the child and the educator
  • Work co-operatively with families to ensure consistent and high-level relationships
  • Develop effective and compliant documentation processes that will support and lead to positive outcomes
  • Engage in authentic and effective relationships with families that support all stakeholders
  • Identify support services that may be available and how to link in with these services to provide an overall consistent and rewarding program for the children
