Expanding our theme of design led, collaborative, inspirational practice delivering liveable places we are pleased to offer a series of 4 participatory mini workshops culminating in a ‘Yarrabilba Water Sensitive Neighbourhood’ design. The first of  this series will have a theme of integrated urban systems focusing on biophysical aspects of ecology and climate. The  seminars will provide a unique opportunity to expand participants knowledge and skills in a collaborative work space  about how to deliver Queensland homes and communities for the future.

Participants at the series will:

• Work with local experts in the use the CRCWSC urban heat, water cycle and economics modeling tools

• Work with local experts for community lead design

• Work with local experts in circular economies

• Hear from and discuss with the LendLease Senior Development Manager for Yarrabilba about what works for them and what they are looking to do into the future

• Ideally participants would attend the whole of the series to get maximum value from it, though each session will be  designed to function independently

This first session will ‘set the scene’ through understanding the bio-physical aspects of designing a worlds best practice water-sensitive street. Participants will be active in utilising the CRCWSC’s scenario planning software to gain a deeper understanding of both this tool and its real life application.
