Brisbane German Week | 1 - 9 October 2021

RSVP 6 Oct (Online) | Science and Innovation Day

3pm Brisbane – 4pm Sydney – 7am Berlin

Our 6th German-Australian Science and Innovation Day has become an annual feature event during which the current status and emerging opportunities in terms of research partnerships between Germany and Australia are presented and discussed.

The overall theme this year will be on large-scale science partnerships. In particular, we will present three alternative pathways as role models to such high impact relationships that are broad and deep at the same time. This will include

(1) Institutional partnerships

Representatives from The University of Queensland and the Technical University of Munich will present the setup, aims and operating model of their university-wide collaboration.

(2) Industry-focused partnerships

Examples for how Australian Universities such as Griffith University and Monash University are partnering with German institutions such as Fraunhofer and Helmholtz.

(3) Disciplinary partnerships

The bioeconomy initiative will show how like-minded researchers across various universities in both countries seek synergies and government funds.

The German Embassy will provide an overview about bilateral strategic research initiatives and the DAAD will present the most relevant funding models for such partnerships.

The German-Australian Science and Innovation Day will take place at the Southbank Campus of Griffith University and start at 3.00pm.
