The Soloists' Mountain Showcase 2024
SXS will be offering a one-day, two concert bespoke taster event with headline
artists Australian guitarist Slava Grigoryan, Finnish pianist Paavali Jumppanen and Polish violinist Jakub Jakowicz on Sunday 18 August, 2024 at the stunning acreage surrounds of Shambala Estate, Tamborine Mountain in the Scenic Rim, Queensland.
Shambala Estate presents an enchanting venue, hidden amidst the lush rainforest of the Gold Coast hinterland, offering picturesque vistas and serene surroundings, with perfect acoustics for an intimate boutique chamber music performance.

Esteemed Finnish pianist Paavali Jumppanen, (and the current Director of the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne), joins forces with acclaimed violin virtuoso Jakub Jakowicz for an enthralling performance featuring emotionally charged and technically demanding masterpieces.

With György Deri’s illustrious career as a cellist spanning over four decades and Roger Cui’s reputation as one of Queensland’s most sought-after pianists (principal pianist with the Queensland Ballet), this is an extraordinary opportunity to see leading international musicians up-close and personal, showcasing their virtuosic talent and unique musical partnership.
Multi award-winning soloists, Roger and György have built a highly acclaimed musical partnership since 2021, and we are thrilled to be able to present this exceptional line-up of artists and repertoire for you. They will be joined by SXS Acting Co-Artistic Director and exemplary violinist, Margaret Blades, as well as emerging operatic bass Jack Bolton (Margaret Schindler Vocal Scholar recipient for 2024).
