                  Reverend Father Terry Gerovasilis

Reverend Father Terry Gerovasilis is the parish priest at the Church of Saints Constantine and Helene in Northbridge.

Traditional Christian practices, beliefs, rituals and traditions, face immense challenges and increasing calls to revolutionise and modernise by the secular world. In this context, the Orthodox Church remains steadfast in her doctrines and traditions. However, the Church is always conscience of her role to embody the presence of Jesus Christ, bring peace to the world and spiritual healing to lives of the faithful. For this reason, clergyman in Orthodox Parishes carry the heavy burden of balancing tradition and transition. Parish priests must play an important role in teaching the faithful about the doctrines of our faith, the traditions of the Church and our obligations – as the living – toward those who have fallen asleep.

This presentation will cover topics such as the understanding of death in the Christian tradition, the funeral rites, as well as the important relationship between the Priest, the faithful and funeral directors in the end-of-life process.

12.00pm - Cyber Wardens - Simplifying Cyber Security in Your Business

Cyber Wardens are on a mission to ensure Australian small businesses operate in a cyber safe environment. By bolstering the cyber capabilities of people who work in small business, they make it easier for small businesses to increase their cyber posture to prevent attacks and be resilient to them. Their goal is simple, Cyber criminals consider Australia ‘closed for business.’

Cyber Wardens will be the online version of first aid officers or fire safety wardens, who can prevent, prepare, fight and help recover from a cyber attack or the theft of customer data or intellectual property. Just like we protect ourselves by locking up our businesses and homes at night, the Cyber Wardens program will give small businesses the skills to shut our digital doors to lurking cyber threats.

This Cyber Warden training session will simplify cyber security to help your business with its ‘no buzz, no jargon’ practical and quick wins to help you lock up your business and keep cyber criminals out.
