A little about us:

Our son Lenny is an almost 3 year old who is living with Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and a rare genetic condition.

Our first-time-parent journey has been filled with unexpected challenges. In 2025 alone, this has included numerous ambulance trips and hospital stays, learning seizure management, teaching loved ones how to physically support Lenny, Botox treatment, and countless hours of therapy.

Our most recent challenge is transport. Lenny is growing (like a weed), as is the specialised equipment he relies on every day. We are already unable to safely fit his needs into one of our vehicles and are quickly outgrowing the other.

To support his development, health, and independence, Lenny requires essential equipment, including:

  • A wheelchair with power assist (recently approved by the NDIS and soon to be his primary means of independent mobility)
  • A specialised car seat to allow safe transfers
  • A standing frame to support hip health and posture
  • A gait trainer, which is currently his only form of assisted independent movement
  • A Bingo stroller providing postural and bilateral support for comfort

Currently, our vehicle is simply too small to safely transport Lenny and his equipment. This results in significant heavy lifting, placing us at risk of injury and limiting Lenny’s ability to participate fully in everyday life.

Our goal is to purchase and modify a new or gently used large family vehicle with an automatic ramp or lift. This would allow Lenny dignified, safe access without strenuous lifting and enable us to transport multiple pieces of equipment so he can choose how he moves and participates, something that will become near impossible once his new wheelchair arrives. 🤍
