We here at UnWined are super excited to host the fine folk from Petaringa for this one night only, tasty take over pouring out a whole vines worth of various wines.
About the winery:
Established in 1980, Pertaringa is a family-owned wine brand based in McLarn Vale, South Australia. Part of Bec Hardy Wines, Pertaringa is owned and operated by Bec, a 6th generation member of and the first female vigneron from one of Australia’s oldest wine families, the Hardys.
Since her father Geoff bought the Pertaringa vineyard in the McLaren Vale foothills in 1980, the brand has continued to produce some of the region's finest wines. Bec acquired the Pertaringa brand from her dad in 2020 and will continue her family's tradition by taking this second generation wine business into the future.
As 6th generation farmers, we embrace sustainable viticulture and we're proud of our connection to the land. McLaren Vale offers some of the world's more ancient soils and we pay respect to this land by using predominately organic products, regular vineyard and weather monitoring, and adopting integrated pest management practices in the vineyard.
The name Pertaringa means 'belonging to the hills' and originates from the local Kaurna indigenous language.
The Pertaringa cellar door is beautifully situated in the eastern foothills of McLaren Vale, surrounded by native flora and fauna with stunning views across the vineyards.
