Event Details
Exploring Rib Basketry.
Dates: Saturday 28th Feb 2026 and Sun 1st March 2026
Times: 10am - 4pm both days.
In this two day workshop participants will explore rib basketry techniques. On day one, we’ll dive into the basics by making a small melon basket, playing around with different shapes, styles and materials. Then you will have the rest of the time to work on a larger basket — either another melon style or something more unique using driftwood or found sticks as a handle.
We’ll also chat about how to harvest and prepare natural fibres for weaving. All materials are provided, but feel free to bring any special pieces of driftwood or sticks you’d like to use for your basket handle.
