Fire & Weeds Workshop

A representative from the RFS will be presenting on fire preparedness, creating asset protection zones, approvals to undertake burning activities and what you can do to be prepare for future fire events.  

The Biosecurity Officer from Council will also be present to talk about weeds post fire, the common weed species that germinate after fire in the Coffs Harbour LGA and how to manage them. We will also be showcasing the updated weed resource Weeds of the North Coast, which is a resource that can assist you to identify and manage weeds. 

There will be opportunity for free forum to ask questions. 

Free copies of the new resource Weeds of the North Coast will be available on the day.

tems to wear: Long sleeve shirt, pants, sturdy enclosed boots and hat. Sunscreen and insect repellent. Please note, ticks may be present. Walking distance will be less than 1 km.

Items to bring: Please bring your own food and water on the day. You are welcome to bring a folding camping chair if you would like to sit down for the workshop.

This is a COVID safe event. Please note that you will have to sign in on the day. Masks mus be worn indoors at all times. Please maintain personal hygiene and physically distancing of 1.5 m at all times. You must be vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend this event.
