Kelvin Grove Wind Orchestra

The Kelvin Grove Wind Orchestra is a community based orchestra of more than 60 musicians, of all ages and from all walks of life. The KGWO formed in 1997 and incorporated in 1998. KGWO has evolved to a high standard, with a strong local following, and a string of recent sold-out concerts.

The KGWO sound includes brass, woodwind and percussion instruments, and the orchestra plays a variety of musical styles including serious symphonic band repertoire, well known classical and contemporary works and popular pieces. The KGWO goal is high quality musical performance, at an accessible price. Concerts are usually in two parts, with the symphonic works in the first half, a delicious light supper at intermission served by the orchestra members, and then a lighter, and often humorous, popular format for the second half. The concerts are very family friendly and accessible for all ages.

The KGWO rehearses at The Old Museum Building on the corner of Gregory Terrace and Bowen Bridge Road and stages three major concerts each year, showcasing talented young guest artists.
