Seasonal Steps Parent Education Sessions : Nurturing Social Communication
Tickets
Details
This Winter season brings an opportunity for parents to nurture their child's social communication skills:
- Embrace and understand neurodiversity
- Understand children's social communication styles
- Ways to nurture friendships and peer interactions
“Neurodiversity may be every bit as crucial for the human race as biodiversity is for life in general. Who can say what form of wiring will be best at any given moment?” Harvey Blume, The Atlantic 1998
Neurodiversity is the idea that all kinds of brains are equally important, different and valued. No one brain or way of being is better than the other, just different. Different brains socialise differently and have different perspectives, different styles and different support needs.
When children get together, it is important that they understand their perspective and needs as well as the perspective and needs or others. Working together builds an inclusive, supportive world where everyone can get their needs met with kind, intuitive friendships.
Join us in person or on-line for these 90-minute sessions, each packed with valuable tips and real-world guidance, helping your child have a say in life at every step of the year.
Because Social Communication Matters – every word, every season.
Seasonal Steps Parent Education Sessions are an initiative Therapy Matters values to provide support and education to the wider community on understanding and support for children's communication skills and how to support them when their path to talking looks different.
