Sensory Detective® Autism Workshop for Therapists, Support Workers, Teachers and Families.

Nelle’s presentation is a fusion of lived experience and research informed knowledge, providing you with a complete profile of autistic students / individuals.

Nelle's training focuses on sensory-triggered behaviour. Her Sensory Detective Workshop® is a high-energy, fully immersive experience allowing you to view autism from the inside out, forever changing your perception of the condition. You’ll gain a totally new perspective on Autism, which will promote richer relationships with your clients / children /students.

This is an engaging full-day session packed with loads of great strategies for educators, therapists, community support workers and families, including specific techniques for de-escalating challenging behaviours and meltdown.

The workshop provides:

The workshop provides a detailed description of the characteristics Autism Spectrum, including profiles on the neurology, biology, cognitive processing, perception differences and learning styles of those with the condition.

You'll learn first hand how sensory stimuli influences all behaviour, emotional development and academic progress. With this knowledge you'll find adopting simple accommodations and differentiation strategies becomes second nature!

Registration commences at 8:30am.

Nelle Frances is - author *Ben and His Helmet series * Sustainable Social Skills Programme* Asperger Child - Simply Explained*, parent of an Autistic adult, Autism & Sensory Specialist, Special Needs Educator, Sensory Detective Program, Facilitator of AS Adult Social Group (18-35's).

  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Contribution (6 hours):-Please retain your Certificate of Attendance as a record of CPD. Workshop aligns to General Capabilities in particular the organising elements of Personal & Social Capabilities, Critical & Creative Thinking and Ethical Behaviour within the Australian Curriculum.
  • Cancellation Policy: Notification of cancellation received in writing no less than 3 days prior to the workshop will be refunded. No refunds will be given within 72 hours of the workshop, however tickets may be transferred to other workshops.
