Radio Laria Poetry with Fiona Stuart and Ebem Toala

Radio Laria is ending 2025 with two fantastic features, Fiona Stuart and Ebem Toala. Fiona is an authentic woman of strength whose poetry stays loyal to both the beautiful and the harsh realities. Ebem Toala is a theatre and mime artist dedicated to creating moments of depth and sensitivity on stage. We have ten open mic spots for poetry, or other artistic forms of expression…if you can express it in five minutes then we want to experience it! (sign up on the night and arriving early is recommended for sign up).

Doors open at 7pm and the live poetry kicks off at 07:30.

The audience is very supportive, and we welcome new readers. Men are welcome to share on the open mic, but please be mindful that this is a night to promote women and women-identifying poets, and we ask that you behave respectfully.

Our venue, the grassroots Black Spark Cultural Centre, serves two things that most poets love… coffee and wine! (Other options available if you don’t fit that stereotype…) You are also allowed to bring in food from outside as long as it’s not too messy.
