Just Write - Writing for Fun and Frivolity with Holly Cardamone

So, you want to write better? The only way to do so is to write, and write a lot. When we write regularly we learn the craft, explore and develop our voice and our word count increases.

I believe that writing shouldn’t lead to hand wringing. Writing is more than wondering what in the living hell should I write for my socials this week, questioning if what I’ve written aligns to my brand. Sometimes in all the ‘work’ of writing, we lose sight of the fun of it.

Just Write is a chance to write, just because. It’s about flexing your writing muscles, not writing for your brand - although I have no doubt there’ll be some brand-building gems that fall out of a writing session. It’s about scribbling, keeping the pen moving and keeping your fingers dancing across the keyboard while you write for fun. It’s about playing around with writing in a low stakes environment.

My wildest dream is for people to see the act of writing as relaxing and fun and Just Write reflects this. You won’t actually write anything specific like a book chapter, a blog post or social media captions. Instead, I’ll share a Storytelling Prompt from my deck, and we’ll simply see what falls out.
