Details

The traditional art of weaving has been an essential skill across most cultures of the world. Learn how to weave with weeds and other plants to make beautiful baskets and sculptures for your home and garden. The random weave technique is perfect for the beginner and the experienced weaver, with endless possibilities for individual exploration. Get creative and unveil the beauty of this ancient craft this spring!

THE VENUE
The Creator Incubator is where creativity happens. A thriving shed full of artist studios located in eclectic Hamilton, Newcastle. Join us for a workshop and make sure you leave time to visit the gallery and take a wander through studios while you're here!
ABOUT YOUR TUTOR
Michelle is an experienced artist, a graduate of The College of Fine Arts in Sydney. Her fascination with colour, textiles, and love for plants has been combined in her continued study and exploration of weaving & natural dying, recieving recent tuition with master weaver Matt Tommey (US) & master dyer Aboubaker Fofana. She is founder of Michelle Leilani, a sustainable textile company specialising in the art of natural dying.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Full refund if prior to 30 days. Otherwise refunds upon cancellation by the student will only be awarded if we are able to fill your booked place. This still applies if the workshop is not fully booked, as we require a minimum number of placements to be filled in order to run the workshop and offer confirmation to students. Confirmation of the workshop will be made at the latest 5 days prior to commencement. In the event the workshop is postponed due to low enrollment numbers or other circumstances, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or credit towards any other course.

Refund Policy

Refunds up to 30 days before the event, Refunds upon cancellation by the student will only be awarded if we are able to fill your booked place, unless made 30 days or more in advance of the event. Full refunds offered if we cancel the event for any reason.
