This dynamic, in-person professional development workshop introduces Early Years Educators to the science and practice of self-regulation through body-based strategies, music and movement, and trauma-informed play.


Key Themes:


·The developing nervous system and brain in children 0–6

·What “self-regulation” really looks like (and why co-regulation comes first)

·The power of movement, rhythm, connection, and breath

·Simple body-based games, kids' playful yoga and mindfulness tools to reduce stress and improve focus

·Trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, play-based approaches to managing big feelings and behaviours

This is a face-to-face interactive workshop, where Educators will be actively participating in self-regulation activities designed for children. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

The number of participants for this workshop will be limited, so please only book in if you are confident you can attend the date and time. A wait turn waiting list will operate and Educators on the waiting list will be advised of vacancies on Tuesday 14 October.

Priority will be given to Educators who work withing an Early Years service within City of Knox.

Presenter : Sian Chambers-Vallance , registered counsellor and play therapist who specializes in working within a neuro-affirming approach to children’s wellbeing. Sian is the founder of Building Better Brains – About us - Building Better Brains™
