Launceston Fabric Lampshade Workshop with Annie

In this  relaxed small group you will be provided with the steps, materials and tools needed to create a  magnificent fabric covered lampshade.  

Think:    Recycling.  Think ;  what’s in my stash. 

We also carry a fine selection of Australian designer fabrics.

Your tutor Annie is also passionate about conscious living. If you don’t have a shabby shade then why not find a shade in an op shop that needs to be re loved.

 Check if you have a base that suits the size of your shades or maybe hang it from the ceiling. Please consider recycling a piece of fabric to put on the shade.

FAQ’s

Do I need to bring any materials?

We will be making a shade suitable for a table lamp or to hang from the ceiling.  20 cm diameter. 

Option to make a 25 cm diameter shade for additional surcharge of $20.

The paper requirement for 20 cm  is a minimum of  80cm wide by 30 cm high.  Horizontal pattern.

The paper requirement for 25cm is a minimum of 100 cm wide by 35 cm high.  Horizontal pattern.

Can I purchase a seat as a gift?

Yes, just contact Annie prior to the workshop to organise this.

Should I bring snacks?

No, some delicious healthy snacks and good coffee/tea will be included in your ticket.  Lunch is not provided.

I have never created a lampshade does that matter?

No prior skills required to make a shade. It’s within every ones reach.  This is a hand skill and as such some manual dexterity is needed to make a lampshade. 

Is there an age limit?

Suitable for ages 15 - 99.   Please consider that some hand dexterity is needed as per all crafting projects!
