TRACEY BUNN (NT) 'ANOTHER BROKEN JULIET' ALBUM LAUNCH + MARK LUCAS (DOUBLE BILL)

Darwin singer songwriter TRACEY BUNN has spent over 30 years honing her craft, performing at venues & festivals across Australia, Ireland, UK, Europe & the US, both solo & with her former band The Toe Sucking Cowgirls. Her exuberant live shows have garnered praise around the world & her song-writing has drawn a swag of awards.

With a powerful voice & gutsy style, she grabs her audience, finds the remarkable in the ordinary, & swings from rollicking sing-a-longs to moody ballads & tender songs of yearning.  Her lyrical landscape is found in mining towns, remote pubs, luckless love affairs & unforgettable characters.

By the Wayside, her 2011 debut solo album, was recorded in Nashville with fellow Aussies Anne McCue, Mark Moffat and Bones Hillman.

In 2022 Tracey Bunn put down her pen & donned her newly acquired producer’s hat. Setting aside her own storytelling prowess she partnered with lyricist Peter Hayes to self-produce ‘Another Broken Juliet”, her first release in over 10 years.

Tracey Bunn has delivered one hell of a beautifully drafted, soulful, textured and atmospheric collection of songs.” Stuart Coupe

Her honest heartfelt songs convict her of the heinous crime of being a fine writer, observer and teller of tales. She is a woman who demands we listen and then delivers.” MAVERICK MAGAZINE UK

MARK LUCAS gigs his vast alt. country/ folky back catalogue around Sydney (& occasionally beyond), solo & with varied line-ups of his band of 20 plus years, The Dead Setters.  He released two new albums in 2024 “Onward Into the Fog” (Dead Setters) plus the more acoustic “Magnetic West” (with his “Rainy Day Friends”).

I'd place Mark Lucas in the same category where you find the late Townes Van Zandt and John Prine, or Robert Earl Keen: handsome, easy-to-the-ear melodies, beautiful, pure, at times bitter and sardonic lyrics, and a number of songs which you could immediately catalogue as "gets stuck in your head.” Dani Heyvaert, Rootstime.be (Belgium)
