Come along to the Beechworth Historic Courthouse to hear two of Australia's finest crime fiction writers talk about their work with local crime author Margaret Hickey!

Sulari Gentill is the award-winning, best-selling author of 15 published novels.Her body of work includes The Rowland Sinclair Mysteries, The Hero Trilogy, and Crossing the Lines (published in the US as After She Wrote Him) as well as several short stories, essays and articles. In 2011 Sulari’s debut novel was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize in the Best First Book category.Since then, Sulari has released a further 13 novels, and has won and been shortlisted for several awards including the Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Fiction, the Davitt Award for Best Crime Fiction by a Woman, and the Australian Book Industry Award for Best Adult Book. Her latest novel, The Woman in the Library, will be released worldwide in June. She’s currently working on the 11th book in the Rowland Sinclair Mysteries as well as new standalone thriller.

Chris Hammer is a leading Australian crime fiction author. His first book, Scrublands, was an instant bestseller when it was published in 2018. It won the prestigious UK Crime Writers Association New Blood Dagger for the best debut crime novel. Scrublands has been sold into translation in several foreign languages and is being developed for television. His follow up books – Silver (2019), Trust (2020) and Treasure & Dirt (2021) – are also bestsellers and all have been shortlisted for major literary prizes. His new crime novel, The Tilt, will be published in October 2022.
