Managing Challenging Members and Volunteer-related situations
Please note that this training workshop is for Knox-based groups/clubs, non-profit organisations and individuals who live or work in Knox.
Facilitator: Non-Profit Training
Details:
In your community group/club or organsation, it may be possible that volunteers have to assist or control escalating situations. It is important to understand the best way to handle a member or volunteer whose behaviour becomes challenging. These interactions can cause undue stress on volunteers and can drive members and volunteers away from your group if adequate training and/or support is not provided.
We will explore ways in which committees and volunteers can learn to navigate a successful pathway through challenging situations. Come along and find out what tactics, tools and processes can be used to help diffuse a tense situation.
Topics include:
- Why challenging behaviours might occur
- Indicators that a situation is becoming challenging
- De-escalating tense and challenging situations
- Debriefing and selfcare
