'Benefit for Martin' 7-11pm 21 March Marrickville Bowling Club

Martin Skipper aka Martin Bassman, co-founder of Blues Collective in 2015, later a member of the John Hardaker Band, and regular at blues jams since the early 2000’s, has contracted ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig's disease, the most common form of MND (Motor Neurone Disease), for which there is no cure. To help Martin cope with considerable expenses for his future care, we are holding a ‘Benefit for Martin’ 7-11pm Saturday 21 March at Marrickville Bowling Club, 91 Sydenham Road, Marrickville, with entertainment by four of the best blues bands in Sydney, who have all donated their time and skills to help make this event a huge success. Those bands, performing a set each 7.30-10.00pm, are Robert Susz & Continental Blues Party, Django Blackheart, John Hardaker Band and Blues Collective. Then 10.15-11.00pm we’ll have an all-star jam featuring these and several other brilliant musicians who have already told us that they’ll be there to support Martin (bring your own instruments or sticks, folks). Tickets are $50 including booking fee, and all the proceeds of this event (less very reasonable venue production costs), will go to Martin within days of the event’s completion.
