TOBY MARTIN & FRIENDS: WINTER RESIDENCY AT BUTCHERS BREW BAR

⭐️  TOBY MARTIN is a singer, songwriter & frontman of the beloved indie rock band Youth Group. Over the course of nine albums, Toby has established himself as one of Australia’s most distinctive & adventurous songwriters, combining a plaintive melodic sensibility with finely observed & deeply felt lyrics. Recent records Songs From Northam Avenue & I Felt the Valley Lifting set detailed stories to a backdrop provided by musicians from different cultural backgrounds. His most recent records are 2024’s Song Khúc Lượn Bay (Two Sounds Gliding) a collaboration with Vietnamese-Australian musician Dang Lan & the 2025 album from Youth Group Big Whoop (which was feature album on ABC’s Double J). He is also a co-songwriter & collaborator on the new Uncle Roger Knox record Buluunarbi & the Old North Star. Toby has won an ARIA & toured the world, including performing at Coachella, Reading & Leeds Festival, Laneway & Splendour in the Grass.

This special intimate June residency will see Toby bring it all back home (to Dulwich Hill). He will play a different album from his back catalogue every week in stripped back solo mode (with a few choice cameos) plus some other deep cuts, new songs & select covers.

MON JUNE 1: 'SKELETON JAR' W/ HARRIET BENNETT

⭐️  HARRIET BENNETT is a 23 year old songwriter, producer & musician from the bushy, northern outskirts of Sydney & a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Contemporary Music course at the Sydney Conservatorium (First Class Honours).

Heavily inspired by the dystopia, human relationships & artists such as Julia Jacklin, Alvvays, Radiohead, Courtney Barnett & Wednesday Harriet loves exploring all genres of music, but has mainly been labelled as alt-rock, indie folk, electronica & alt-country. Her music, both live & recorded, has been described as emotional, raw, ethereal & experimental.
