Accredited Mental Health First Aid Online Course - Parkes & Forbes Shires

The accredited Mental Health First Aid course is provided online by Man Anchor, with funding provided by Gotcha4Life. 

This course is being provided free to Parkes and Forbes Shire residents, with a limit 12 participants in attendance. We only require that you renew or become a member of Central West Lachlan Landcare ($10), which also includes many other benefits.

Individuals undertaking training are required to commit to six hours of self-paced e-learning, prior to the online facilitated sessions. After registration your postal address will be requested to receive a copy of the manual as well as a copy available online.

Developing mental health problems covered are:

• Depression

• Anxiety problems

• Psychosis

• Substance use problems.

Mental health crisis situations covered are:

• Suicidal thoughts and behaviours

• Panic attacks

• Traumatic events

• Severe effects of drug or alcohol use

• Severe psychotic states

• Aggressive behaviours

Please note: This course is not a therapy or support group, rather it is an education course to learn how to give first

aid to others.
