As the fastest growing chronic health problem in Australia , diabetes affects 4% of the population, or just over 1 million Australians. Chronic kidney disease is also on the rise, affecting 1 - 10 Australians which is why we need to raise vital funds for KTDRA so they can continue supporting medical research to eliminate kidney disease and diabetes.
Kidney, Transplant and Diabetes Research Australia is proud to support ground- breaking translational medical research led by Professor Toby Coates that is helping to improve the lives of those affected by kidney disease and diabetes . An expert in his field , Prof Toby Coates is changing the lives of many adults and children living with Type 1 diabetes.
Professor Toby Coates was the first in Australia to carry out a Islet transplant and he also works closely with the Women's and children's Hospital in Adelaide where young children are born with hereditary pancreatic disease. Thanks to Prof Coates and his team of researchers at The Royal Adelaide Hospital , many lives have been saved and with your support of this fundraiser , many lives will continue to be saved.
Funds raised from this event will enable us to support young people undertaking research in diabetes and transplant related fields at The Royal Adelaide Hospital.
We hope you will be able to come along and support this great course!!
There will be an Early Bird Prize live music to dance too and much much more...
Proceeds from ticket purchases, live auction, silent auction and raffle prizes on the night will go towards KTDRA for life saving RESEARCH!!
