Back for another evening of night sky viewing by popular demand!
Join us on Saturday 1st of March for an evening of cosmic exploration as we welcome back The Mobile Observatory and their powerful telescopes, including their 22 inch, 2.3m tall mobile observatory.
Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, Grazing Table and selection of Light Bites. Then let Mobile Observatory spark your sense of wonder, with a presentation followed by striking views of planets, star clusters, nebulae and more!
Away from the city lights, on this moonless night, the views will be spectacular
First you will see Jupiter up close, with its coloured storm bands and a handful of moons, followed by the Orion nebula.
You will also see first hand why they call Mars ‘the red planet’, and be wowed by the most dazzling globular cluster of 10 million stars sparkling like diamonds.
The darkest skies will also showcase the intricate structures of the massive Tarantula nebula, spanning 600 light years, and allow us to see striking views of a relatively close galaxy only 13 million light years away.
The Mobile Observatory will also showcase the latest in smart telescopes offering fascinating astrophotography live images of hidden objects and intricate details invisible to the human eye.
