LESS THAN 8 people??? All other seating is on a 'first in best dressed' basis! So come early and choose a seat, a stool or table which suits. If the show is sold-out, you may end up sharing with others or choose to stand.

Manos Loizos was one of Greece’s foremost composers of the 20^th century and his songs depict the social and political crisis in Greece during the 1960’s and 70’s. Many of his songs became anthems to a generation because they captured the struggle of the average citizen against the tyranny of social injustice and inequality. Loizos’ music was, and still is accessible to a wide audience. Despite the powerful narrative, there is a beauty and simplicity to the songs making them easy to remember and sing along to.

This performance by George Doukas and the D Strings is part of a series of shows across Australia paying tribute to the music of Manos Loizos, with a repertoire of powerful and recognisable pieces. The musical arrangements, by George Doukas, will be performed by the D Strings, a ten piece ensemble, with a mix of Greek and classically trained musicians. The introduction of special guests Keyna Wilkins (piano and Flute) and James Castrissos (drums) adds another layer to the unique sound of the D Strings.
